The first one is to see all 'new' posts by clicking 'Quick links' in the top left corner of the screen, this will display all the 'new' posts on the forum. Your second option is to click 'unread' posts, as it suggests, this will show you all your unread posts.
If a subject matter, or forum interests you there is the ability to subscribe to a forum, you can do so by pressing the 'subscribe forum' button in the bottom of your screen. If you subscribe to a forum you will receive an email when there are updates or new posts by users. The functionality to receive emails by default is turned OFF this is because unsolicited emails could be seen as SPAM by some people, so please feel free to take control.
